International students from as many as 56 countries have applied for the few coveted spots for this summer internship program at the Bulgarian Institute for Computer Science, artificial intelligence, and Technology (INSAT). The affiliated institution of Sofia University saw an overwhelming response with global applications from leading universities in the USA, Germany, the UK, Switzerland, China, and India, among others.
Elite selections reflect global talent
Out of all the applying students, whose number was big, the final decision regarding the students admitted into the cut-throat program was made: only 23 students, including four Bulgarians. The selected few will work with INSAIT researchers for 8-12 weeks from June.
That shall be the process of selection—rigorous and selective—a testament to this institute’s resolve to make sure that talent, which is honed, is nothing if not exceptional in the respective fields of ai and technology.

Selected for the program are students who hold a broad variety of awards and achievements, including gold medals from international Olympic Games and Competitions.
Some of them have already been at the top in making a significant contribution to the scientific debate through publication or even presenting at prestigious conferences. Notable among them are those included in the top 1% of the most talented youth in their countries, coming from the likes of Iran, India, and China.
