In a groundbreaking development towards the ethical application of artificial intelligence (ai), the governments of Tehran and Moscow have announced their decision to collaborate on this front. This partnership, forged by top-level representatives from both nations, is committed to sharing knowledge and information on ai, with a particular focus on Islamic ethics and equal collaboration.

Fostering a Moral Alliance in ai

The agreement was signed by Behrooz Minaei from Iran and Andrey Neznamov from Russia. They represent their respective countries’ endeavors in ai and robotics technology, united by the objective of promoting responsible use of ai across various industries. This partnership will pave the way for exchanging valuable experiences in implementing ethical principles of ai.

This alliance transcends mere technology; it emphasizes the importance of ethics as ai evolves. It represents a unique marriage of science and ethics, striving to push the boundaries of ai while ensuring its benefits extend to society as a whole.

Investing in Iran’s Technological Future

Iran is making good on its commitment to advance ai technology with a substantial investment of 50 trillion rials ($100 million). This investment aims to bolster Iran’s ai infrastructure, marking the beginning of a new phase in its development. Both public and private sectors will contribute to this ambitious project, with a launch date set for March 21.

Rouhollah Dehqani-Firouzabadi, a pivotal figure in Iran’s technology sector, underlined the importance of ai as a crucial tool for navigating today’s rapidly evolving world. Despite facing challenges, Iran remains determined to advance in ai and demonstrates this commitment through substantial investments. The establishment of a national steering committee signifies an essential step on this journey, focusing on utilizing ai for economic growth and fostering collaboration among various sectors.

A Global Leader in ai

Iran’s ambitious goals are reflected in the creation of a National Steering Committee and the establishment of the National artificial intelligence Center. These entities, led by President Ebrahim Raisi’s directive, aim to streamline ai development from conceptualization to commercial success. Their objectives are clear: to utilize ai for economic progress, secure a prominent international position, and cultivate homegrown talent.

Although Iran boasts a robust academic presence in ai, ranking 17th worldwide in research output, it lags behind in applying ai technology, ranking 78th globally. This disparity between theoretical research and realworld application is a gap Iran is eager to bridge.

The Vice Presidency has outlined three comprehensive plans to increase ai’s role across sectors. These strategies focus on academic research, technological advancement within ai firms, and the creation of a national tech hub for ai. This multifaceted approach aims to position ai as a cornerstone of Iran’s technological advancement.

Iran and Russia’s collaboration on ai ethics marks an innovative stride towards responsible technological growth. By integrating Islamic ethics with leading-edge ai research, they set a new standard for international cooperation in technology. With substantial investments and strategic planning, Iran is well on its way to making significant strides in ai, bridging the gap between academic achievements and practical applications.
